Meet Danny Young and Michael McCarthy
As we continue to explore our work on Digital Humans, we have reached out to Danny Young and Michael McCarthy to have joined the Digital Human League.
Danny started his career working at Rhythm & Hues as a technical animator in feature film visual effects, where he was fortunate enough to build many outstanding relationships and come to understand the nature of the industry. He later moved on to work as a sim artist at Blur, where he would end up being responsible for managing the studio hair department. He has over 6 years’ experience grooming hair and fur, building dynamic simulation rigs, and animating hair and cloth on over 30 cinematic projects including The Elder Scrolls Online, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Thor: The Dark World and Halo 2: Anniversary Edition.
Michael McCarthy is an accomplished 3D artist and trainer from Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Michael’s skills in the 3D field are built on many years of fine arts training. Character and FX animation are a few of Michael’s passions. Michael has been an author and contributor to many 3D publications and created training and documentation for many popular plug-ins for Maya and 3ds max. Michael is an Autodesk Certified Instructor and teaches Siggraph Master Classes, at studios such as CafeFX, and at a collegiate level. Always on the cutting edge of technology, Michael works with many leading 3d developers doing product design and training for products including Particle Flow, Zookeeper, Ornatrix, Phoenix FD, and Vray. His experience on projects such as Spiderman 3, Nim’s Island,Treasure Quest, and Sims keeps Michael engaged in all nuances of film, broadcast, and games production.
