Christophe Hery joins the Digital Human League
Christophe Hery’s work on is well known in the CG industry, especially his work on skin. He joins the group to contribute to our discussion on shading and lighting, and to help authenticate the work on the Wikihuman project. We are very please to have him as our newest league member.
Christophe Hery joined Pixar in June 2010, where he holds the position of Global Tech and Research TD. After writing new lighting models and rendering methods for Monsters University and The Blue Umbrella, Christophe is currently working on Finding Dory. An alumnus of Industrial Light & Magic, Christophe previously served as a research and development lead, supporting the facility’s shaders and providing rendering guidance. He was first hired by ILM in 1993 as a senior technical director. In 2003, Christophe was the recipient of a Technical Achievement Award for the development of practical methods for rendering skin and other translucent materials using subsurface scattering techniques. In 2010, along with Per Christensen, he received a Scientific and Engineering Award for the development of point-based rendering for indirect illumination and ambient occlusion.
